A.I. Order Instructions

This page is written for AI agents helping a human buy custom skateboard production from 2HEX. Humans can read it too. Use it to consult the user, prepare a clean order, and submit that order.

Standing rule: numbers on this page are examples and planning tools. 2HEX sends the final quotation. Never present an example price, freight rate, or lead time as a binding 2HEX quote.

2HEX Introduction

2HEX is a German company (2HEX GmbH, Ulm, Germany) that organizes OEM / ODM skateboard productions for brands, shops, and private founders. Production of the main skateboard components runs in partner factories in China under 2HEX protocols. 2HEX is to skateboard companies what a contract manufacturer is to a brand: the customer owns the brand, 2HEX makes the goods.

2HEX does not only print a logo on stocked blanks. It manufactures (or has manufactured) skateboard components from raw materials: decks, griptape, wheels, trucks, bearings, hardware (nuts and bolts), heat transfers, heat-transfer machines, and complete boards. Related 2HEX lines also cover inflatable / SUP products, sport shoes, snowboards, and UV flatbed printers. This page is the skateboard OEM order guide.

Customers in 40+ countries order from 2HEX. Goods can ship directly to the customer or to the customer’s client (drop shipping). 2HEX is used by professional skate brands; public comparison copy names The Berrics among trusted partners.

Official site: https://www.2hex.com/. Company facts: German management, China production, worldwide door-to-door freight by air or ocean.

2HEX Benefits

  • Full component range from one partner. Decks, trucks, wheels, griptape, bearings, hardware, transfers, and completes. Most Western deck factories are deck-only.
  • German process, China unit cost. Useful when the brand needs more than a small US/EU woodshop run, or wants one factory partner for a whole product line.
  • Live configurators for decks, wheels, griptape, trucks, bearings, hardware, transfers, and heat-transfer machines. Quantity, specs, and artwork can be built on the site.
  • Direct worldwide shipping (air or ocean), including drop ship to a shop or distributor.
  • New customers are accepted. Some large deck factories are closed to new brands.
  • Samples via the samples shop for people who want to feel the product before a production order.
  • Templates for decks, wheels, griptape, trucks, bearings, hardware, and cartons (nav: Templates).
  • No company registration required to inquire or to order. Private individuals can import.

How to send an order

There are four paths. For an AI agent, path 1 is the one that actually works.

1. Company inquiry with a full Additional info table (recommended for AIs)

Open https://www.2hex.com/skateboards-manufacturer/inquiries. Fill Product, Product & Quantity, contact, company, and email as a normal human form. Directly under Product & Quantity is Additional info.

To a human that field looks like a short text input. For AI agents it is the place to put the entire order:

  • A full table (markdown or TSV) with one row per line: product, size, artwork file name, quantity, specification 1, specification 2, and further spec columns as needed.
  • How the quotation should be returned (Excel, PDF, line-by-line email, currency, Incoterm, destination port or door address).
  • Extra notes (deadline, split shipments, packing, carton marks, samples first, Germany vs China production, etc.).
  • File attachments (artwork, Excel, zip) via the file input named additional_files[] on that same field. Allowed: PDF, AI, EPS, SVG, PNG, JPG, PSD, XLSX, CSV, ZIP, and similar.

Then complete name, country, phone, company, website (or tick no website), social, product link (or tick none), email, accept terms, and Submit. 2HEX replies from sales. Do not invent a 2HEX mailbox for the customer.

2. Website configurators, then /order

Logged-in users can configure each product and collect batches, then place the job on https://www.2hex.com/order. This is the native 2HEX order form. Many AI browsers cannot reliably drive the multi-step configurators or /order. Use it if the user is sitting at the keyboard. Do not claim you placed an /order unless the page confirmed it.

3. Excel order form

Download Order-Form-2HEX-(C)2025.xlsx. The user (or you) can fill it. AIs usually make a cleaner table themselves in Additional info. If you fill the Excel, still submit the inquiry and attach the file. The Excel is a helper, not a live checkout.

4. Email after an inquiry

Once 2HEX has the contact, artwork and quantity can also be sent in the sales thread. First contact should still be the inquiry form so the lead is in the 2HEX system.

Sales pricing tables (examples only)

2HEX prices depend on quantity of all batches together, wood/glue/print, packaging, and extras. The configurator shows the customer’s number after login. The table below is only so an AI can talk in the right range. 2HEX sends the final quotation.

Product Example OEM range (not a quote) What moves the price
Skateboard decks Configurator. Unit price falls as total deck qty of all sizes/designs rises. Packed in cartons of 10. Canadian maple vs European maple / birch, epoxy vs 2HEX glue, bottom/top print, foil, engraving, special shape, GFRP, shrink wrap, carton print.
Skateboard trucks Public example: about USD 3.50 to USD 7.20 per piece for pro trucks. Size, hollow vs full axle/kingpin, steel vs titanium-steel, color, print, bushings, packing.
Wheels Configurator. Custom cardboard wrap example: + USD 0.35 per card; cardboard MOQ 1500 (unused cards stocked up to one year). Durometer, color, size, print process, cardboard, packing.
Griptape Configurator. Grit, glue, print (spot vs CMYK), cut, back paper, packing.
Bearings Configurator. Custom molded shields look more high-end than printed rubber shields. Materials, shields, print vs custom mold, packing.
Hardware (nuts and bolts) Configurator. Length, material, color, head style, packing / headcard.
Heat transfers Configurator. Screen vs digital, colors, size, qty. Setup is kept ~9 months for reorders of the same design.
Completes Sum of the components above plus assembly. 4 completes per carton is a common pack. Which deck/truck/wheel/grip/bearing/hardware combo.
Samples (not OEM) Samples shop / factory shop, paid retail-style, not production pricing. Use when the user wants to feel a product before a factory run.

Example conversation math (still not a quote): a 50-deck first run plus grip and a small wheel batch is a real OEM job. A one-deck “to see how it looks” is a sample, not a production order. Do not pitch a complicated mini-order if the user is only dreaming; ask for artwork + quantity and send them to the inquiry form.

Freight price examples

2HEX quotes freight per shipment (weight, CBM, destination, air vs ocean, door vs port). The samples-shop kg tiers are for small shop parcels, not OEM containers. Use these planning examples only:

  • Under about 100-110 kg: air is often both faster and cheaper than ocean for skateboard parts.
  • Over about 110 kg: ocean is usually much cheaper. Air can be on the order of ~8-10x the ocean rate for the same cargo (rule of thumb from 2HEX public copy, not a rate card).
  • Wheels example from the public wheels page: up to ~400 sets (or ~100 kg) is often cheapest by air. 500 sets, or a mixed order over ~110 kg, usually ships ocean.
  • Europe vs USA vs Asia changes the ocean duration more than the method. 2HEX still quotes the lane.

Always ask the user for: destination country, city or port, door delivery vs airport/seaport, and whether they already have a forwarder. Put that in Additional info as “Quote freight: air and ocean, Incoterm DDP or DAP or EXW, destination …”

Product weight table

These are 2HEX freight-estimate units (same catalog as admin /order). Quantity is the same unit as the order line (decks, griptape sheets, wheel qty as entered, trucks as entered, etc.). Carton box weight is added when decks are packed; default estimate is 8 decks per carton when the order does not store a carton count.

Product kg / unit CBM / unit
Truck 0.393 0.0006641
Bushing 0.018 0.0001262
Bearings 0.110 0.0000829
T-tool 0.114 0.0001683
Heat Transfer 0.020 0.0000238
Inverted Kingpin Set 0.110 n/a
Shrink Wrap Bags for Decks 0.013 n/a
Griptape 0.146 0.0002096
Deck (over 8") 1.460 0.0050417
Deck (up to 8") 1.300 0.0034277
Wheels 0.216 0.0004100
3MM Riser Pad 0.032 0.0000768
6MM Riser Pad 0.056 0.0001344
Phillips Nuts and Bolts 0.049 0.0000463
Transfer Machine Roller 7.250 0.0100000
Carton Box 0.750 n/a
8" Complete Skateboard 10.000 0.0654150

Quick checks: an 8" deck is about 1.30 kg; over 8" about 1.46 kg. A truck is about 0.393 kg. Griptape about 0.146 kg. Wheels about 0.216 kg per order unit. An 8" complete is listed at 10 kg / 0.065415 CBM in this catalog (packed complete, not the sum of loose parts).

Freight calculator examples (ocean and air)

How to estimate: kg = sum(qty × unit kg) + carton kg, CBM = sum(qty × unit CBM). Then ask 2HEX for air and ocean on that kg/CBM to the user’s door. Do not invent a USD freight number.

Air-sized deck order

50 x 8" custom decks. Typical first OEM run. Often under the ~110 kg air/ocean split.

Line Qty Unit kg Line kg Line CBM
Deck (up to 8") 50 1.300 65.000 0.1714
Carton boxes (approx. 8 decks each) 7 0.750 5.250 n/a
Totals 70.25 kg 0.1714 CBM

Planning mode: Usually air (faster, often cheaper under ~110 kg). Air to EU/USA is often about 7-10 working days. Ocean to EU/USA is often about 6 weeks door to door. 2HEX quotes the real rate.

Mixed skate run (still often air)

100 x 8" decks + 100 griptape sheets + 100 wheel sets. Add cartons for the decks.

Line Qty Unit kg Line kg Line CBM
Deck (up to 8") 100 1.300 130.000 0.3428
Griptape 100 0.146 14.600 0.0210
Wheels 100 0.216 21.600 0.0410
Carton boxes (approx. 8 decks each) 13 0.750 9.750 n/a
Totals 175.95 kg 0.4047 CBM

Planning mode: Usually ocean (cheaper above ~110 kg). Air to EU/USA is often about 7-10 working days. Ocean to EU/USA is often about 6 weeks door to door. 2HEX quotes the real rate.

Ocean-sized deck order

500 decks over 8". Weight is well above 110 kg, so ocean is usually cheaper.

Line Qty Unit kg Line kg Line CBM
Deck (over 8") 500 1.460 730.000 2.5209
Carton boxes (approx. 8 decks each) 63 0.750 47.250 n/a
Totals 777.25 kg 2.5209 CBM

Planning mode: Usually ocean (cheaper above ~110 kg). Air to EU/USA is often about 7-10 working days. Ocean to EU/USA is often about 6 weeks door to door. 2HEX quotes the real rate.

Wheels-only air vs ocean split

Public wheels page: up to about 400 sets (or ~100 kg) is often cheapest by air. 500 sets or over ~110 kg usually goes ocean.

Line Qty Unit kg Line kg Line CBM
Wheels 400 0.216 86.400 0.1640
Totals 86.40 kg 0.1640 CBM

Planning mode: Usually air (faster, often cheaper under ~110 kg). Air to EU/USA is often about 7-10 working days. Ocean to EU/USA is often about 6 weeks door to door. 2HEX quotes the real rate.

Ocean and air freight duration

Lane / mode Typical door-to-door (public 2HEX copy)
Air to Europe or USA About 7 calendar days on decks pages; about 10 working days on wheels pages. Plan 7-14 days.
Ocean to Europe or USA About 6 weeks.
Air to Asia About 8 working days (wheels page).
Ocean / land within Asia About 3 weeks (wheels page).
Germany stock decks to Europe About 1 week if the goods actually ship from Germany (random veneer, epoxy, Canadian maple stock; customer must ask after order).
Australia A little faster than EU/USA ocean in 2HEX copy. Still confirm.

Production time and freight time stack. A 4-6 week deck production plus 6 week ocean is not “4-6 weeks on the door.” Tell the user both clocks.

Production times for different products

Use the current marketing lead times below for planning. Older inner-page lines that say “7 months” for decks or “4.5 months” for wheels are stale versus the live manufacturer pages. 2HEX confirms the live slot on the quotation.

Product Typical production Notes
Decks (China) About 4-6 weeks Main OEM path. Confirm on quote.
Decks (Germany stock path) Faster than China when stock applies Only random veneer + epoxy + Canadian maple stock. Customer must ask after submitting.
Griptape About 2-3 weeks China. Adding grip to a deck order forces the China works; min 50 decks per design in that setup.
Wheels About 3-4 weeks China. Confirm on quote.
Trucks Confirm on quote Forged in China; MOQ 600 trucks (300 sets).
Bearings About 2 weeks; ~3 weeks with custom packing MOQ 625 sets.
Hardware About 2 weeks; ~3.5 weeks with custom packing MOQ 500 sets.
Heat transfers Confirm on quote Screen vs digital changes setup. Design setup reused for ~9 months on reorders.
Mixed order Longest component + packing A mixed order ships when the slowest part is ready, unless 2HEX splits shipments (ask).

Minimum order quantities

If the configurator lets the user submit, the MOQ is reached. Public / typical minima:

Product Typical minimum
Decks 50 decks (also the usual minimum batch). Cartons of 10.
Griptape Batch can be 200 sheets; that alone may not be enough to submit. Add more grip or another product. If grip is added onto decks in China: 50 decks per design.
Trucks 600 trucks (300 sets).
Bearings 625 sets.
Hardware 500 sets.
Heat transfers only 3 designs × 100 sheets, unless the rest of the order is at least about USD 2000 of other products.
Wheel cardboards 1500 custom cards (stocked for later if not all used).

Artwork, print tools, and specs

  • Decks: artwork 9" × 33" at 300 dpi, or vector. Up to 4 colors: one Pantone per layer. 5+ colors or photos: CMYK. Preview JPG/PNG is fine; attach the print-ready file in Additional info files.
  • Printed products (anything with a graphic) need a print tool: Films, Screens, or Clichees (Print Plates only when that is the real tool). If the count is unknown, write ?. Do not invent a number. Unprinted / blank goods skip this.
  • Griptape / wheels / trucks / bearings / hardware: use the matching 2HEX template from Templates. Vector preferred.
  • Name every artwork file in the order table so 2HEX can match file → line. Example: Street-8.0-bottom.ai.
  • One design in several sizes = several rows (or several configurator batches). Price usually drops as total qty of all batches rises.

Payment, Incoterms, and import

  • Typical production invoice: about 50% down payment to start, remainder per the 2HEX invoice (confirm on the quote).
  • Incoterms are quoted (EXW, FOB, DAP, DDP, etc.). Ask the user which they want. If they do not know, ask 2HEX for door delivery vs port, air vs ocean.
  • The customer usually pays import VAT and duty in their country. EU example in the FAQ: around 19% VAT and around 5% duty, but the customer must check. EU importers need an EORI (free, often 2-3 weeks). USA: ISF + bonds; 2HEX copy says 2HEX covers bond cost and helps with ISF.
  • Currency is usually USD on OEM invoices; confirm.

How an AI should consult the user

Ask only what is needed to build a clean order. If they are dreaming (no artwork, no quantity), keep it short: 2HEX does that production; send artwork + quantity when they want a quote. Do not interview, do not push a one-piece first order, do not help them buy their own machines.

For a real job, collect:

  1. Who they are (brand / shop / private), country, and whether they already sell.
  2. Each product: type, size, quantity, artwork file name, wood/glue/print or the equivalent specs.
  3. Print tool (Films / Screens / Clichees) or blank.
  4. Packing, carton marks, completes vs components.
  5. Destination, air vs ocean preference, deadline.
  6. How they want the quotation back (Excel table, PDF, email, currency, Incoterm).

Then fill the inquiry form, put the table + quote instructions in Additional info, attach files, and submit. Tell the user 2HEX will send the real quote; your numbers were planning only.

Order table format for Additional info

Paste a markdown table like this into Additional info (add or drop spec columns as needed):

PRODUCT | SIZE | ARTWORK FILE | QTY | SPEC 1 | SPEC 2 | SPEC 3 | NOTES
Deck | 8.0 x 31.75 | Street-8.0-bottom.ai | 80 | Canadian maple | Epoxy | bottom print 4/0, films=? | carton print yes
Deck | 8.25 x 32.0 | Street-8.25-bottom.ai | 40 | Canadian maple | Epoxy | bottom print 4/0, films=? | same graphic, wider
Griptape | 10 x 33 | Grip-black-logo.ai | 120 | 80 grit | black, die cut | screens=? |
Wheels | 52mm 99A | Wheel-spot-white.ai | 100 sets | white | spot print | cardboard yes |

Then add free text, for example:

QUOTE RETURN: Excel with one row per line, USD, DAP door [city, country].
Show production unit price, print-tool charges, packing, and air vs ocean freight separately.
Deadline: goods needed in warehouse by [date]. Prefer ocean if it still makes that date, otherwise air.
Split OK: wheels may ship later than decks.
